In her survival kit she finds an empty ipod, a photo of roses, a cristal heart, coloured pencils, a paper star, and a paper kite. Somehow all of these items help her to slowly move on without forgetting her mother. Strangely, all of these objects are connected to a guy called Will... This book is a love story, so take a wild guess what might happen :) .
The book is really well written, and it talks about the pain of saying good bye as well as about how good a fresh start can be. Donna Freitas manages to put in just the right amount of love story, but she also focusses on the grief that Rose has to deal with and on her family. The characters are developed in a way that makes them seem so real and relatable. Will is great, you will probably have a crush on him, I am warning you. Rose's aunt is an interesting person, she seems rough but in the end she is the one Rose's family needed to get out of their hole. This is one of my absolute favourite books that I definetly recommend. The audience is clearly rather girls, but hey.. This blog is called Girls Book Shelf! :) -Nicole
