Lou is a very ordinary person with nospecial aspirations and dreams. When the café where she works closes, she has to get the only acceptable job in her town, which is taking care of Will Traynor. Will used to be an active man with big dreams, living in London and enjoying life. However, he is in a wheelchair now, paralysed from the neck down and quite depressed about that fact. What Lou doesn't know when she starts the job is that Will tried to kill himself before. So she has half a year to convince him that life is worth living even in a wheelchair. Eventhough the subject of Me Before You is a sad one and one one doesn't like to think about, this book is not depressing. Yes, it is sad, but in a nice way, which is why I enjoyed reading it so much. The characters are very diverse. There is Lou, the girl next door from a rather poor family. Will, from a very rich family, who loves travelling and extreme sports. What I like is that Will's mum, dad and Nathan, the carer, each have a chapter from their perspective. This helps to understand and also reenact the way they deal with the situation and the way they behave. So this is definetly a recommendation! This was my first book by Jojo Moyes and I absolutely loved it. And I have to admit that the movie was very well done as well. But do me a favour and read the book first. - Nicole
